Still catching up after a few days away but this show begins on a fierce musical high and stays there. We remember the great jazz/folk bassist, Danny Thompson, by way of some of his great collaborations (*actually Dave Pegg. My bad!); touch on the excellent soundtrack to Paul Thomas Anderson’s “One Battle After Another”, which held our attention for the whole of its 2h 50m which is a feat in itself although not quite best film of the year as some are claiming/acclaiming; Meshell Ndegeocello features on 2 of her own tunes and guests with Tom Skinner; plus a couple from Kamasi Washington that previously passed me by but the Ryan Porter link from Ami Taf Ra’s Spiritual Jazz did the trick.
