The show began with 2 tunes coming out of Nigeria – one old, one new – followed by Los Africanos (from New Jersey) with their version of It’s Your Thing, the Isleys classic, before heading off to Ghana with Santrofi from their new album, Making Moves; and so we continued on the All Kinds Of Everything route via Brasil, Cuba, Puerto Rico, the US, Norway, Venezuela, London and Mali.

You’ll find much more comprehensive tributes to Gwen Guthrie, Roberta Flack and Roy Ayers elsewhere. They may be gone but all three (+ Donny Hathaway) will always remain in our hearts and on the airwaves and dance floors of the world. RIP.
