Another 60 minutes flies by. I caught seasoned jazz and funk guitarist, Jim Mullen and his Organ Trio, at the Battersea Jazz Festival – they don’t make ’em like Jim anymore so catch him if you can – also a large portion of Orchestra Mambo International as part of the Cal Tjader (would have been) 100th birthday celebration at the 229; and the marvellous 28 year old Polish bassist making her debut at Ronnie’s, Kinga Głyk. I saw a clip of hers a little while ago on Danny Sapko’s Youtube channel and found that she was on her way to London and got on it immediately. A wonderful player with an excellent band. Definitely a name to watch out for.
