Marvelous live and recorded music in the magical setting of Brockwell Park Community Greenhouses. BPCG is a wonderful space and with added Mambista it makes for a very special experience.

Mambista is back in the summer sun at the Greenhouses this year with a hand-picked selection of very special and uplifting music from Gypsy Swing to Soukous and Salsa, Reggae, Afrobeat, Ska, Funk, Jazz and Jump-up electric Blues. An evening of Gypsy Jazz, Gypsy Swing, Jazz Manouche, Hot Club-style Jazz, or whatever you want to call the music invented by Romani Jean “Django” Reinhardt (1910–1953) and French jazz violinist Stéphane Grappelli (1908 – 1997). Guitarist extraordinaire Ducato was born into the tradition in Poland to a Roma family and carries the flame with passion and virtuosity, and has played everywhere from Pizza Express Jazz Club to the Royal Festival Hall.

Grupo Lokito fuses two great musical styles in a glorious cocktail of Congolese and Cuban sounds. Led by Wonder Woman aka Sara McGuinness.

Grupo Lokito guarantee hip-swinging mayhem with their enticing dance moves, evocative songs and sensuous rhythms.

Errol Linton – Sunday 16 August, 6.30pm

From a packed Glastonbury Acoustic Stage slot to featuring in BBC Two’s Arena documentary “Two Generations of the Blues (Blues South of the River)”, Errol is the real deal. He won the UK Blues Challenge in 2023, and his is the harmonica you hear tearing through “Lookout Man!” on Joe Bonamassa’s Grammy nominated album, “Royal Tea”, recorded at the legendary Abbey Road studios. Not forgetting live sessions on Cerys Matthews’ BBC Radio 2 Blues Show as well as opening for everyone from Bo Diddley to Dr. John to The Blind Boys of Alabama.

Expect Chicago blues shot through with reggae swing, soulful harp, and a well-oiled band well-versed in rocking the house.

Respect is due to the elders. Bammi was an original member of the genre-busting Cymande, he’s played alongside everyone from Aswad and Jazz Jamaica to Paul Simon and Miriam Makeba.

Bammi will be touring the UK throughout the Summer with Jools Holland’s Rhythm and Blues Orchestra where he has been a mainstay for 20 plus years. We are extremely happy that he is able to fit us into his schedule for his patented selection of vintage joyous jazz, ska and reggae.

Getting to us
BPCG is in the middle of Brockwell Park, between the tennis courts and the walled gardens. Follow the signs.
If you are driving to the gig, we recommend parking your car on Dulwich Road or near Dulwich Road.The park will be dark when you leave the gig so everyone should leave in groups with torches.
