Israel “Cachao” López ft Rolando La Serie, Ladavina from Armenia/France, electronica from Tunisia with Badiâa Bouhrizi, Daniel Villarreal and Resavoir, both out of Chicago, The Loving Paupers from Washington DC and London’s Soul Revivers, Puerto Rican All-Stars, Mongo Santamaria in Fania Flashbacks, another play for J Hus also Little Simz (pictured); Alvorada, Dinho Nascimento, Amapiano from SA with Lost Girl x Luudadeejay and loads more including a small tribute to Robbie Robertson of The Band who died recently … and while going through my shelves looking for Robbie stuff I came across Steely Dan’s Katy Lied and thought I would give the wonderful “Bad Sneakers” a play, alongside a lot of other tasty stuff.
This is Notting Hill Carnival Weekend so I plan to check out the Latin Rave Sound System, where DJ Dave Hucker (RIP) ruled for decades until his sad passing in June, as well as Piano People Sound System for the heaviest Amapiano bass lines eg Lost Girl x Luudadeejay
