On October 11th 2006 in honour of the Father of modern South Africa, Palm Pictures presents “Palm World Voices: Mandela” as part of a special multimedia evening with screening and exhibition at the RITZY CINEMA followed by live performances from Khethi (South Africa) and Zena Edwards plus AFROGROOV DJs upstairs at the Ritzy Café.
Screening and Launch in Screen 2 at the Ritzy Picturehouse, Brixton, Brixton Oval, London SW2 1JG as part of World Cinema Month and Black History Month.

Nelson Rolihlahla Mandela, or “mkhulu” (grandfather), was born in the small village of Mvezo, Transkei, on July 18, 1918. On October 9h, in homage to Nelson Mandela’s remarkable life and revolutionary achievements in South Africa, Palm Pictures releases “Palm World Voices: Mandela.” This installment in the Palm World Voices series on global music and culture is a detailed and moving exposé of South Africa’s first black President and one of the most important figures of the 20th and 21st centuries.
