Fantastic music, as always, as well as some garbled info. New music from Youthsayers (made up of musicians aged between 14+18. Don’t be confused by the misinformation i spout on the show), as mentored by the mighty Soothsayers. The Youthsayers tune was mixed by Prince Fatty who has his own version of Feels Like Teen Spirit out featuring Soothsayers Horns, aka Robin Hopcraft and Idris Rahman, and Idris shows up again at the end of the show with another of his projects, the all-improvising Ill Considered trio.

In 2005 Malian duo Amadou and Mariam released their wonderful ‘Dimanche à Bamako’ album which was produced by reluctant superstar, Manu Chao. Now in 2024 Amadou and Mariam have released a remix of one of the excellent tunes from the aforementioned and Manu has a new single, his first for a good few years.

We begin with the stately House Of Gold out of Montreal, then off to Melbourne for some chilled Jazz Fusion from Finn  Rees.

More new stuff from young Brazilian veteran, Ceu, and well as younger member of the Brazilian new wave, Rubel; a great Joe Claussell remix for Nicola Conte on Far Out, another sought after reissue on Paul Murphy’s Jazz Room label from Ronny April, more from Sheila E’s debut Salsa album, this time alongside her Dad, Pete, and José Alberto “El Canario”.

Singer/songwriter and Rochdale’s finest, Morgan Harper-Jones, and from Iceland via LA, torch singer Laufey, more from Shay Hazan, some Amapiano from DJ Boat, a Congolese Classic from one of the Dons, Franco, as well as a Fania Flashback from the Dons of the Salsa diaspora, Fania All Stars plus solo Hector “La Voz” Lavoe.
