Vintage Salsa from Johnny Pacheco, newly reissued Salsa Dura from La Cucaracha Brass aka Bobby Marin, plus Grupo Um whose ‘Nineteen Seventy Seven’ album was prohibited during the rule of the cruel military junta in Brazil – which lasted from ’64 -’85 – finally lets loose on Joe’s Davis’s Far Out record label. On the subject of that tragic period in Brazilian history check the film “I’m Still Here” if you can, which is a wonderfully evocative film sent in that era.
