The excellent new release from Australian bassist, Anne Butterss, led to a game of musical tag which led to Makaya McCraven to Daniel Casimir; followed by the new album from drummer/composer, Jonathan Barber. Don Wilkerson’s classic ‘Dem Tambourines’ sounded great over the sound system at Perry Louis’s Jazz Dance institution, Shiftless Shuffle, and was a nod the the great Dr. Bob Jones who i caught guesting there recently and dropped it as part of his excellent set; the Horace Silver swings mightily in 6/8 and is an old personal favourite.

Tamil Rogeon specialises in classical and electronic violin & viola. ‘Ascend It’ is  a slice of old school jazz fusion from his recent BBE release; DJ Paul Murphy celebrates 5 years of his Jazz Room label and Graffitti is one of their “greatest hits”.

Puerto Rico-born saxophonist pays tribute to his Bay Area home with a tribute to San Francisco and vibraphonist Patricia Brennan adds a little Latin sabor with ‘Sueños de Coral Azul’. Multi-instrumentalist Tomin (Tomin Perea-Chamblee who works in computational genetics, with a focus on oncology away from music) ends the show with some ethereal quirkiness aka ‘Love’.
