Alvorada | Sunday 22 June, 6.30pm
Alvorada are the UK’s leading performers of choro – a gorgeous form of instrumental acoustic music from Rio de Janeiro. The band features top musicians from London and Brazil, whose diverse backgrounds – including jazz, classical and Brazilian music – make for a unique and innovative sound. Check out their second album release “Faz Tempo” via alvoradamusic.com. Alvorada are perfect for the ambiance and natural beauty provided by BPCG’s Plum Tree “stage”. One not to miss!

Youthsayers + Red Earth Collective | Sunday 20 July, 6.30pm
Reggae, Dub, Afrobeat, Funk, Jazz
Youthsayers is a music project based in South London providing free mentoring in music for young people through ensemble work and live performance. They are a registered charity, committed to fostering growth, confidence, and skill in young musicians and are organised and facilitated by professional musicians Robin Hopcraft and Idris Rahman from the mighty Soothsayers,
Red Earth Collective consists of the aforementioned Robin and Idris alongside ‘graduates’ of Soothsayers. A guaranteed blast is on the cards!

Michael ‘Bammi’ Rose | Sunday 17 August, 6.30pm
Jazz, Reggae, Ska
Bammi has been flying the flag for vintage jazz, ska and reggae in the company of many of the finest Jamaican and British musicians for decades. He was an original member of the genre-busting Cymande and is featured in their documentary, “Getting It Back”; he’s played alongside everyone from Aswad and Jazz Jamaica to Paul Simon and Miriam Makeba and has been a mainstay of Jools Holland’s Rhythm and Blues Orchestra for over 20 years. Their session last year was one for the ages!!

Sarabanda | Sunday 7 September, 6pm
Cuban Salsa
Led by pianist Sara McGuinness Sarabanda is a musical collective that is always on the money with a glorious mix of Cuban rhythms. Sliding effortlessly between classic, vibrant Cuban Salsa and Son – with serious sabor – by way ofcha cha cha, mambo, and the latest hot Timba, Salsa and Latin Jazz … with a nod to Buena Vista Social Club.
The collective’s obvious love of the music they play is evident in the passionate and exuberant arrangements of both original material and Cuban classics. It also features a host of wonderful musicians steeped in Cuban music and Salsa including bassist Jimmy Martinez and Bill Bland on percussion all led by Sara who has rightly earned a mighty reputation in both the salsa and African music scenes.
